Stumps to Solutions Hike

-by Taylor Short, Harmonious Return

On February 15, 13 amazing humans gathered at Flying J Park for the Stumps to Solutions hike, an opportunity to connect with the land, deepen our understanding of logging impacts, and explore ways to support the health of our forests.

Walking through the park, we witnessed firsthand the effects of recent logging. This land has already been logged before, and now, another round of cutting has further changed the landscape. We spent time listening… to each other, to the land, and to our hearts. Considering what these changes mean and what we can do to advocate for better forest health practices.

We were honored to have Colorado Representative Tammy Story join us, along with 12 other incredible humans who share a deep love for our forests. Through open conversations and shared experiences, we explored ways to take action, ensuring that future decisions about our forests align with ecological health and community values.

This is just the beginning. Let’s keep the conversation going and explore meaningful solutions together.
