The Orwellian “Fix Our Forests” Act (more clearcutting and mature and old growth-logging under a different name) has passed the House of Representatives and is now being considered in the Senate, with Colorado’s own U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper considering a companion bill.

Huffman’s (D-CA) recently reintroduced Community Protection and Wildfire Resilience Act, H.R. 582, which focuses on safeguarding our neighborhoods in the only way scientifically proven to work, through home hardening and defensible space less than 100 feet around structures.
